Overview
As part of an international Sustainability Jam hosted by INTAC (International Art Collaboration), I collaborated with students from multiple universities to explore ecological futures through speculative world-building. The jam encouraged cross-cultural exchange, rapid prototyping, and experimental making as a way to rethink how humans might inhabit the planet in the future.
Our team imagined a world where architecture and mythology intersect, leading to the concept of a floating turtle-arcology inspired by Akupara, the cosmic world-turtle from Indian mythology.
Outcome
This project served as a playful yet meaningful exploration of how narrative, culture, and design can inform sustainable futures. It helped us expand our creative processes beyond functionality into imaginative ecological storytelling, and demonstrated the power of collaboration in shaping diverse visions of a regenerative world. This work was exhibited at the University of Toronto and OCAD University.
